You New North Welshmen forget that I'm down here in the Land of
Bracks 'n' Tax.  You should see our petrol prices!

We're ruled by a clone of Hymie, the CONTROL robot (aka
Richard Gautier) from "Get Smart" [TV-Series 1965-1970]

The main differences being that Hymie was reprogrammed at CONTROL
for truth and niceness, whereas the Bracksbot still leaves us in KAOS.)

In other words, a premium Vic or Tas lager beer down here (not the bog
standard brews) is circa $52 bucks.

Also 375 ml stubbies and % over 4.7 attract different duties.

The Aldi stuff gets around much of the tax impost by being in 330ml
stubbies at 4.7%

The weird thing here is that Coopers home brew style beer and their
lovely stout (the only beer with a "Best After" date on the bottles)
is priced like an import when it's from next door, in South Australia.

Hey, it might be an Aldi, but it's a goodie!

Red and its always on special. I usually only pay $25 / slab for proper
branded brew.

Payless beer - crikey what's next. Still, I suppose if you drink enough o=

em they might make the Aldi beans and Aldi bread almost palatable. :-)
