atw: Re: Contract opportunity - things that make me mad!!!

Hi Bruce
I know we have been there many many times before and it is dredging up
an old winge. It still makes my jaw drop to the floor though.
Cheers

Old arguments Debbie.

There will ALWAYS be recruiters trying to get a lot for a little and
there will ALWAYS be tech writers that will take a little for a lot.

Until those tech writers change, it will always be the same.

Such is life.

My 0.05

Cheers,
Bruce Ashley

Noticed this little gem of an opportunity on the web this morning-----

Technical Writer - 3mth contract -
<short-description of role> then..........
You must possess a demonstrable understanding of Plain English writing
principles. Experience in usability review processes is also highly
desirable. A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all
levels within a company is essential. Experience within a dedicated
software development environment is also desirable. The successful
applicant will have a degree qualification in Management,
Communications, Computer Science, or related discipline from a
recognised tertiary institution. Alternatively, relevant industry
experience in a related role may also be deemed acceptable.

All this for the princely sum of $33 per hour..

sheesh
Debbie
