atw: Re: Briefing Document from Clients

Deborah,

It may seem like a round-about way of doing it, but have a look at the
standard AS-4258-_User documentation development process_. If you plan
an information product according to the standard, many questions to ask
the client will occur to you during the process.

I also have a documentation-plan template that I would be happy to send
you: let me know offline.

Subject: atw: Briefing Document from Clients

Hi All,

I've been asked to come up with a briefing document that clients fill in
whenever they want some technical writing done. A bit like a proposal.
I have some ideas, but am wondering if any of you work with such a
template/document already and would be willing to share? Or some advice
on what you must get out of the clients before starting. I don't want
to reinvent the wheel.

Many thanx :)
