I agree with Janice. Trans-national companies are very sensitive about
trademarks and logos. If they are not seen to be defending trademarks
then the trademarks can revert to public domain. "aspirin" is a
text-book example. Why not check with RIM itself? Microsoft, for
example, provides a list of its products and how to cite them, and even
mentions those that are not trademarked. RIM may have similar
information on its website. Failing that, email it and ask. If it
doesn't help then it would not be helping its own cause.

As a general rule, if you have to use a company logo in publications
then demand the style guide for it. One Silicon Valley company I know of
has a massive document (about 80 pages, I recall) on how to use its logo
in every situation you could possibly imagine. And then some.
