Rather than being too large, I suspect document corruption. Most likely a
table. What I normally do is split the file in half, and see which half
doesn't compile, split that in half and so on. 99% of the time it's a
troubled table. These are fixed (if you have constant columns) by converting
the table to text, cutting and pasting the resulting text into notepad, then
copying and pasting the result back and converting back to a table.

Hi there
I'm fairly new to this list so I'm not sure if anything like this has been
covered before so please forgive if it's repetition....

I am currently using HDK XP to convert MS Word documents into a series of
.chm files before compiling them into a main (master) document.=20
I have one word document which appears to be to large for conversion (eg.
HDK freezes. This is not just a matter of slowness as I once left the
document on a test computer for 16 hours and there was no change). I have
broken the document into 30 files and then compiled it into one large .chm
file however it is seemingly impossible to add this 'mega file' to the
original master document as the titles for each of the 30 documents display.
I have tried to convert the document using different heading levels but HDK
will not allow this saying the first heading level must be the 'topic' or
'title'

Has anyone out there experienced a similar difficulty or have any theories
as to what I may do?? Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you very much,
=20
Sincerely
