atw: Re: Apart from using Word 2002, what else am I doing wrong?

Michael

This probably will be of no help whatever to you, but at least I tried ... .
(After all, you did help me with my Acrobat problems.) Oh yes, and I should
add that I certainly couldn't claim to be a "Word 2002 guru", but that
didn't stop me.

I attempted to recreate your problem in Word 2003, but have been unable to
reproduce the symptoms. Which means, I suppose, either that your problem
derives from a bug in Word 2002 that has been fixed in Word 2003 or that my
reconstruction of your scenario was inaccurate.

This is what I did. I created a template containing a field
{INCLUDEPICTURE "C:\\Documents and Settings\\All
Users\\Desktop\\Howard\\web\\H Site\\images\\chair3.gif" \d \* MERGEFORMAT
}
and saved it. (Don't ask why I chose a picture of a chair for my sample -
maybe I was subconsciously thinking of the Lethargic Man.) I exited from
Word, then restarted it and created a new document based on the template
just created.

And it looked just fine. When I toggled field codes, there was the code,
unchanged, just as above. I tried it with the link locked and unlocked -
made no difference.

Is there anything else I should try?

Howard
