atw: Re: Another Word Query

Dear Kirsty (Taylor),

If you are looking for a non-breaking space, that's an Alt+0160 or (using=20
the Word Find dialog > More button > Special button) a caret and an s "^s".

An Alt+0175 gives you an overscore character "=AF".

Either use the special characters tool in the Find dialog or press=20
(Windows) Flag+R for the Run prompt, type "charmap", press return and the=20
Windows Character Map displays, giving you all the Alt+keypad numbers=20
combinations for the various ASCII characters available to your=20
computer. (Works with the Num Lock on. Unavailable for most lap tops.)

BTW, you might like the neat trick of selecting and copying (Ctrl+C)=20
whatever you want to use as a replacement (text, graphics, even screen=20
dumps - Print Screen for the lot or Alt+PrintScreen for the active window)=
=20
press Alt+E,E (Edit > Replace) or Ctrl+H in Word and typing a caret and a c=
=20
"^c" in the Replace with: field. This replaces whatever you want with=20
whatever is in the Windows system clipboard / paste buffer.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Michael Granat
