Here here. I get tired of the dissing - and all it does is make me harder to
remember to respect people who have mentored me over the many years I have
been a (often feeling very privileged) member of this list. 

I had to sit through a sermon on the passage about the tongue on Sunday (you
know, heard it all before, yadda yadda yadda). It reminded me that one post
can undo years of work building up respect in the game. My next question is
"for what purpose?"

You know it did take me nearly forty years, but I have learnt it. 

The trick is to take a DEEP breath BEFORE the plunge. 

Maybe we could all do that some more?

Counting the sheep... one two three four five six. Hommm. Hommmm.

What a good idea Hedley. Lie down for a while ... and do get that repeat

It is curious that a man of words, as you are, can say that he "endured" a
thread when he had a choice not to read it. 

Given all your years in this profession, and in publishing before that, you
have a lot you could contribute to this list, Hedley. Instead, you prefer to
throw out your one-line barbs. Why don't you put aside your detestation of
me for a while, and give the list something more edifying.
