Someone should tell Adobe there's a GFC and a recession or two.
Just wait six months or so for the desperation discounts. You don't want the first release anyway -- wait until the beta testers ... ahem, early buyers have finished finding the bugs, then get the first patch release.
Do you have offspring, nieces or nephews, or friends with an academic/educational ID card? It costs about $450 new and less for an upgrade.
