Personally Ilana, if I'm writing for a non-techie audience, I would use
exactly the terms you've used in your e-mail. For example, I've just
finished a RoboDemo tute called 'Searching' and I'm working on another one
called 'Adding a client'. Boiled down from several pages called something
like 'maintaining the client database'. I'm pretty sure that I know which
the users will prefer! ;-)
Thanks and regards,
Andrea Tappe

>>Some of the terms are very "technospeak" and I would like to make them
more user friendly. For example, why use the term Insert Record
if you want to add a new record, why Perform a Query if you want to search
for records. <<
