"$22.65 (with rounding benefit) a head"
Sorry, I seem to have mislead people. We are not intending to share out
the cost of hire among attendees. Normal members meeting attendance
charges will apply.
The idea is that if enough people come to the session, then shelling out
for the video would be justified. If only half a dozen people turn up,
the ASTC is going to be seriously out of pocket and we won't be treating
our members fairly.

Er, Jill (N).
Yes, of course you can freely borrow pre-worn copy of a
John Cleese training video from a public library for
personal / home (or maybe also government school)
use only. (If it isn't already out on loan somewhere.)
The issue happens when your are showing it to a group, in
a commercial environment and are charging (even a nominal
fee) for entry at the door.
That is almost certainly not permissible under the
copyright conditions under which that video is available,
unless you pay (apparently quite handsomely) for the
privilege of doing so. (Hey, Mr Cleese has to eat, too.)
Bede (S) is doing things the way that they are supposed to
be done and paying for the right to use that training tool
in a commercial training situation.
There might, however, be a lower rate applicable to its
use by not-for-profit (and presumably, partially tax exempt)
organizations, such as an ASTC, which would be worth
investigating.
Otherwise, the $22.65 (with rounding benefit) a head for a
gathering of 15 gets rather weighty and you might all find
it better to go out for a night at the movies in the VIP
area, with munchies on tap - or have a few coldies together
at the local beverage pouring pavillion, Westies style.
(Not very ASTC PC but perhaps even more fun.)
Cheers,
Michael

Find someone from UTS (staff) it is in their library - or was while I
was=20
there.
Probably other libraries have it as well - maybe even a local library
can=20
get it for you.
