atw: Product of choice all other things being equal

I suppose the difficulty we are getting into here, is that all other things
are not equal.

What products is the writer already familiar with?
What products is the 'maintainer' already familiar with?
What products have already been used and are they 'good enough'?
Do different products have clearly definable strengths and weaknesses that
relate to what you are trying to do?

My source documents are already in PageMaker, and my 'maintainer' developed
them in PageMaker. This means to me that if PageMaker can be made to sing
almost as well as, for example, WordPerfect or Framemaker, then it will be
the product of choice. But if it will always be inadequate against the
other standards, it will not.

So I am none the wiser, but will explore the new PageMaker suite to see what
it offers.

Thanks everyone. Christine

Naomi, your comparison sounds like a great thing to put up on a web site
or somewhere.
Thanks for your thoughts on WP Office 11. I have not had it crash on me so
cannot comment there.
Interesting about the save as pdf too.
