atw: Prev. posted cleanup of dreaded char char

Hi all:

Some time ago some kind soul posted here some code to clean up the dreaded =
comma-ridden mangulated styles produced by some versions of Word. Can you p=
oint me to that post, or even re-post?

BTW: do such styles render the document fragile, or are they merely annoyin=
g?
