Dear Tech Writers
This is just a reminder that the 7th annual AODC conference is coming up in
a little over a week. This year's event is being held in Sydney (at the
Manly Pacific) from 28th to 30th April, with an additional day of
pre-conference workshops.
The Australasian Online Documentation and Content conference offers 22
sessions over three days, presented by local and overseas experts. Many of
their names will be familiar to austechwriters: Jean Hollis-Weber, Gerry
Gaffney, Kylie Weaver and Tony Self are amongst the Australian speakers, and
Dave Gash, Char James-Tanny and Dr Tom James are some of the overseas
talent.
Of particular interest will be the sessions discussing the emerging
'structured authoring' concepts, and a preview of Microsoft's new Longhorn
Help. A vendor exhibition is also part of the conference, and we are
expecting a number of new product and version announcements.
If you haven't registered for AODC, there's still time. Airfares from other
capitals to Sydney are still nice and cheap, as luck would have it. You can
find out more, and register online, at http://www.aodc.com.au, or phone me
on (03) 9803 8291.
Hope to see you in Manly, Sydney.
