atw: New technical writer role; permanent; Melbourne (eastern suburbs); mid-June start

Hi austechies,

Australia's leading developer of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
is seeking an experienced technical writer to join its busy technical
communications team. You will be working for a solid Australian company (in
business for more than 30 years), with around 1,400 customers world-wide,
and with a strong culture of staff appreciation and recognition.

Ideally, you will have at least three years experience as a technical
writer, working on a variety of projects, using a variety of authoring tools
and producing a variety of deliverables. Experience preparing training
materials would also be considered favourably.

You will need to be an especially competent practitioner of MS Word and
Adobe RoboHelp (and ideally you will also have Dreamweaver, or a similar
product, in your tools box).

Exposure to common commercial practices-general ledger, payables,
receivables, inventory, purchasing and sales, asset management and the
like-is a plus (especially experience documenting such practices).

This is an opportunity to exercise your talent for crystal-clear
communication across many parts of an organisation-product development,
training, internal communications and R & D-in a culture strong on knowledge
sharing. You will be joining a largely self-organising team of writers,
working to well-developed writing practices and workflows and yet in an
environment open, indeed eager, for fresh ideas and new ways to exploit
modern documentation technologies.

Generous staff benefits are on offer, including free life insurance,
discounted income protection insurance, salary packaging options and
well-funded professional development opportunities.

Call me on 0419 574 668 if you have a query about this position.

Send your CV to <mailto:cvs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> cvs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Note that applicants whose work is unknown to Abelard Consulting may be
asked to sit a general writing test as part of the recruiting exercise.
