For those of you who don't follow the document format wars as closely
I do, here is the latest news:
Microsoft said on Wednesday that it would move to provide support for
the Open Document Format in Office 2007 SP2 (due out in the first half
of 2009). Users will be able to open, edit, and save ODF and PDF
documents as well as set the software to automatically save documents
in those file formats by default.
