atw: Melbourne agencies/contacts

Hi

I'm new to this forum and have just embarked upon a
major seachange into a new career in writing/editing.
I'm interested in advice on the best tech writing
agencies to contact re work opportunities, together
with details of other societies/meetings that may be
useful for networking and learning more about the
trade (or is it a profession?!). 

It seems that the Vic arm of the STC would be
worthwhile, based on my review of some of the
archives.
