Someone do some sexy screenshots and formatting, send it back to me
(wordheretic at the ISP of iinet dot net.au) for approval, and let's get it
up.
Create style Outline List.
Create style Outline List Restart.
Modify style Outline List Restart.
Set it to be big and purple, in a frame 1.5cm relative to the page
horizontally, lock anchor move with text.
Customize the numbering. ** We only ever modify ANY numbering from the style
at the first level **
set level 1 to be No number style at all
set level 2 to be number format 1., restarting on prev level and attach
style Outline List. ** now this and all lower number depths will stick to
the Outline List. MAGIC HAPPENS! **
set level 3 to be a or level 2 + a. or whatever your SECOND level of
numbering should look like. ** Do not re-attach the style! Leave it blank!
Purists at this point could scurry off and define styles for each indent
depth for online usage, but that is what li is for**
continue down
also, note that ALL indenting MUST be controlled through the numbering
definitions and NOT the style paragraph format.
Now, to author with it.
Select a big fat list. Apply Outline List to it. Stick the cursor at the
start of the list and press Enter to make a new preceding blank paragraph.
Use your left indent button, or select style Outline List Restart. It jumps
off the page, no longer mucking with your body content flow, when view para
marks is on its big n purple n visible as a "My Restart Point".
Welcome to numbering heaven and enjoy :-)
