NEXT MEETING SYDNEY CBD
Wednesday 3 June
Topic: Information quality
Outline:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"We are all involved in the production and delivery of information: some as
initiators, some as improvers, some as distributors, most of us as some
combination of these.

We all have the notion that there is 'quality information', that some
information is of higher quality than other information, but do we know what
makes it so?

The answer lies in processes that add value - to information, information
products and information systems.

This talk will introduce you to Robert S Taylor's book Value-adding processes
in information systems. This work proposes that information quality is
something determined by the user through a set of 'user criteria of choice'.
Moreover there are processes we can apply that help to ensure that information
matches the user criteria and meets user needs.

The aim is to leave you with a framework for adding value to information, no
matter the scale of your work or what parts of the production-delivery cycle
you work in"

Hope to see you there
