atw: IMPLEMENT vs DEPLOY

Bob, here is my 2c worth...

I consulted with our developers here and we reached consensus on the following
terms:

implemented = the product has been put into production and refers to a
'process' that contains several steps.

deployed = the product can be deployed before or after implementation depending
on the situation. Deployment can imply a geographical distance of some sort,
again depending on the situation.

So:

Iif you deploy a software build to Branch Controllers in the field, for
example, and the software is not installed until after a reboot ..then
implementation only occurs after reboot - so this might clarify the
distinction between the two words here.

is this more helpful?
I have not referenced this from anywhere except from 4 developers and myself
discussing what we think it means in our environment so I may also be right off
the mark.

Cheers
Nikki W
