I am also putting together a list of freelance ideas, that may also be
career shift ideas. These are 'real work' possibilities that are
accessible to an independent consultant and that can add to a portfolio
of part-time and occasional work. (Freelance is quite distinct from a
contracting in that a freelancer usually takes a large number of small
tasks, compared to a contractor who takes individual full-time contracts
- shades of grey, but you get my drift.)
It is my observation that editing/proofreading seems to be a steadier
source of work than writing and more accessible to freelance writers.
Jean, for one, has said that she does not have any trouble accessing
enough work (I think).=20=20
Does anyone else have any experience with this?
Do you need to be able to quote a qualification to get the work?
If so, what qualification will suffice? (Particularly for those who do
it anyway but do not have a piece of paper.)
What are the best ways of sourcing editing work?
