Just in case you need to run some Windows hardware sometimes or indulge in dark guilty pleasures, find and install VirtualBox -- it's free and open source. Now you can install Windows inside VirtualBox and boot it whenever you need to run the critical program, e.g. FrameMaker (Linux version was frozen at 5.5.6). You can even share files back and forth between Ubuntu and Windows through a special common folder, which can be your entire data disk if you want. I have it going the other way with Ubuntu as a guest on Windows, thanks to VirtualBox.

VirtualBox is great if you have to document on one platform but run the target software on another.
