Thanks to everyone who replied. Based on your comments, a couple of the
things I was worried about don't seem to be a problem, but I couldn't
get the agency to budge on any of the remaining points, so I ended up
not signing with them.
In fact a couple of items just seemed to me to be plainly wrong. They
weren't even things that were necessarily bad for me--just duplication
or contradictions between one part of the contract and the other. I
couldn't even get them to clarify or fix any of these.
So if you do contract TW work and you come across one of these ITEAs, I
suggest you check it even more carefully than you would a standard
contract (you *do* read your contracts carefully, don't you?). It's not
that they're necessarily bad for you, it's that:
- I don't think they're really designed for our situation
- they're very new and the bugs may not be ironed out yet
Stuart
