atw: File storage locations

Thanks for your help with the discussion on where to save files.

 

For online file movement I have decided to go with Google Docs.   Thanks to
those who suggested it.  This is different from on-line backup for which
Mozy would be much more suitable.

 

Did you know that with Google Docs?

.         You can email a file to Google Docs (proving you are happy to
receive it as HTML)?

.         You can download a file to Google Docs?

.         You can open and edit that file in Google Docs?

.         You can drag a file off a website into Google Docs?

 

This solves a teaching problem.  Students can download exercise files from a
website into Google Docs, then move them between Google Docs and whatever
computer they are sitting on, to work on them, finally saving them back to
Google Docs.

 

This was pretty much what I was looking for.

 

The only complication is getting them signed up with a  Google login in the
first place.  From there it is an astoundingly easy program to use.
