atw: Contractor rates [3]

Hi austechies,

I answered Bruce Ashley's email regarding superannuation a little too
hurriedly. The rates quoted on our website:

* exclude superannuation if you are working through a registered
business entity (such as a company) and

* include superannuation if you are not.

So if you have your own company, a rate of $70 is means that we would pay
you $70 an hour + GST (and you would look after your own salary, PAYG,
superannuation and so on).

On the hand, if you are not a a registered business entity, a rate of $70
means that we would pay you a pre-tax amount of $64.22 and pay your chosen
superannuation fund the difference (9% or $5.78). We then remit the PAYG
payable on $64.22 to the ATO. (And in these cases, we pay WorkCover premiums
out of our placement fee.)

I hope that's a little clearer now.

Cheers
