Here's another reminder to all Sydney PDF philes and phobes about the
ASTC(NSW)'s next Sydney meeting:
PDF Jam Session
on June 30th. It's a chance to bring along files that didn't seem to PDF
properly. Nick Hodge from Adobe Systems will try to sort them out.
The reason for letting you know now is that you keep an eye out for your
PDF problems between now and then. Don't wait until 1 July and say 'oh,
dash it all, I should have remembered to take that file along last
night'. Save up your problem documents to bring along. Bring the
original file (on CD) and you'll probably want to bring the
unprintable/invisible/bloated/1 mm high/non-existent or whatever else
PDF that you made from it. Or maybe you've got a problematical PDF from
someone else.
Nick's PC will have Adobe products (CS, Framemaker, Pagemaker and
obviously Acrobat 6.0.1 Professional + Reader 6.0.1) and Microsoft
Office Standard loaded, which covers the majority of the bases. If you
have Visio, Corel or Macromedia etc. problems, bring some printouts
anyway and Nick will be happy to discuss them.
