So I guess we can all conclude from the recent discussion that humans are
needed if we're to have good grammar.
How timely.
Attend the ASTC(NSW)'s Central Sydney workshop on Wednesday and find out the
difference between grammatical 'p-e-a-c-e' and 'w-a-r'. There's still time
to book for this if you do it today.
Deb Doyle, self-employed editor, writer, proofreader, illustrator and
editorial training consultant, will give each attendee a four-page handout
from her book Grey Areas and Gremlins: A Grammar and Punctuation Refresher.
We'll pretend we're editors and write our answer to each question, and then
mark our answers in an interactive session with Deb.
Logistics:
Topic? A Grammar Interactive: a workshop refresher for the mind and the
fingers!
Where? Sydney Mechanics School of Arts, level 1, 280 Pitt Street (between
Park and Bathurst)
Date? 27 April 2005 Time? 6 to 8 pm.
Price? $15 members who book; $20 for others (to cover room rent and nibbles)
How to book? Email info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx; voicemail 82507056; fax 92520441.
OK, still wondering?
peace=Pleasant, Effective, Alive, Clear, Enduring
war=Waffly, Ambiguous, Ridiculous
