atw: ASTC workshop: Styles and Formatting in Microsoft Word with Daryl Colquhoun. Saturday June 17

Come to the next ASTC workshop to learn more about using styles to
improve your documents, in particular:
  * What is a style? The difference between Character styles and
Paragraph styles
  * Overriding styles - when to, when not to, and how to
  * Benefits of styles - table of contents, achieving a consistent look,
change the document's look quickly and easily
  * Fixing up badly behaved documents that you get from colleagues
  * Removing unwanted styles
  * Useful keyboard shortcuts
  * Hints for numbered lists
  * General hints on how to get Word to achieve consistency,
repeatability and an easy life!
So that ... once you get your documents in order, and produce them in
something resembling uniform formats, you can get on with your writing,
more quickly and more productively. Bring a small Word document (3 pages
max) for a trial conversion to see how it looks online. Also, take
advantage of our workshop offer - bring a friend and one only pays 50%
off the normal price.

Cost: $95.00 or $85.00 for ASTC(NSW) members.
Venue: Sydney Mechanics School of Arts, Level 1, 280 Pitt Street,
Sydney.
Remember, all work related workshops are tax deductible.
