MeeSoft Diagram Designer 1.19 - Freeware for Windows
98/ME/2000/XP/Vista
From: http://meesoft.logicnet.dk/DiagramDesigner/
Fully installed with the additional language set, it only takes up
about 2.3Mb on disk!
(I've seen one "commercial"
flowcharting tool advertised lately that requires 3Gb of drive space,
which is utterly absurd.)
Even in a relatively restricted PC
desktop environment, I was able to install it to my memory stick by
changing its default directories during the install.
(Usually,
locked down environments don't let you write to the Windows Program Files
folder or change file associations, so you just change the install folder
and skip the file association step during the installation and Bob's your
Uncle.)
Create your diagramme, export to a graphics format and
Insert > Picture > From File (preferably linked but not included) in
Word or whatever and there you have it. A handy and completely
portable tool you can take anywhere and run from a RAM stick.
Plus, as far as I can tell after a bit of limited dabbling (as I only
just installed it this morning) the Diagram Designer works
beautifully, even letting you move objects, linked by stretchy lines.
So who needs to pay big bucks for a flow charting tool? Not
me!
Hope that helps,
Cheers,
Micky G
