I'll be the first to admit I'm a pitiful excuse
for a Steve, but I think the answer is there
isn't one. There is no ANSI code for the em space.

The unicode is  U+2003.
The HTML is ( ). 

Arial Unicode MS is (or was until fairly recently) 
the only mainstream font that  includes a glyph 
for this code,  even though it is part 
of the official HTML 4.01 specification.

You might have to settle for two or three "normal" 
spaces.
