Hi all The company I work for has recently advertised 5 Tech Writer roles with more on the way. I've been screening the applications and am stunned at the number of form letters, typos and resumes with no relevance to the role, all coming from a group of wordsmiths. Is this industry standard? An application letter should be where a Tech Writer shows off their skill in both layout and language. Very few applications make any reference to the advertised positions or attempt to address the skill criteria. As non IT roles I am having a difficult time finding one person let alone the half dozen required. For those wondering where they could advance their Tech Writer training in order to stand out, consider industry (manufacturing or medical) because from where I sit these Tech Writers are as rare as hen's teeth... Give me a reason to interview, please!!! Cheers Kate _________________________________________________________________ Hot chart ringtones and polyphonics.
