Rod,
Thanks for the info. Yes, even though the scheme looks OK I can see it's not
even working properly on my machine - I'm sure this is something to do with
altering the numbering system on documents which have already been created
with a different numbering system. I will try the SEQ method. I took Normal
off the base style - it didn't make a difference to the Outline Numbering in
any case.
