Not really,  but:

1 Workaround 1 in this area 
is usually to save the Word file as RTF and then import as RTF.
Do you then get the same result ?

2. Is there any chance that text instances are installed in=
 something
like a text box ?      Remember that Frame has the capacity to=
 handle
different text flows within a document.   This +sounds+ as though=
 it
may be interpreting some of the text as being in one or more=
 separate
flows,  which +may+ (just hypothesis -- haven't tried it) be=
 causing
apparent text order re-arrangement.
