Hi Mike, sorry, I haven't made it clear that I'm responding to Elizabeth Fullerton's wondering whether it was worth her while, as a technical writer, to pursue XML techs. So no, I'm not suggesting that managers, admin etc should go to that extent. For tech writers it's a bit of a punt I guess. I'm just wanting to say 'hey this stuff is on our desktops & works like crazy'. Learning these techs is a serious investment of time, at the least, for an individual. But in my view, they are just the ticket for organising information at the level that tech writers typically do. rgds, Tony. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Buckler" <mbuckler@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <austechwriter@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2003 10:52 PM Subject: [austechwriter] Re: I'm not sure how well a strict XML structure would work in the real world > Tuesday, May 27, 2003, 5:49:45 AM, Tony wrote: > > TC> The outlay isn't financial it's time spent learning the standards, > TC> namely XML, XSLT and CSS/HTML.
