When in doubt, find the author and ask.

As for your rights to use the material, Deb, this only became clear in your 
response to mine.

I didn't intend to caused you any offence, but I'm pretty hot on defending 
author copyright and protected document integrity, as we all should be.

These exist to protect our livelihoods, as authors and originators of 
published material.

Blithely telling each other how to defeat such protections, unless we are 
trying to recover our own material from an unintentionally protected or 
corrupted file source (which we should really discuss off list after the 
initial inquiry) should not really be part of this forum.

To do otherwise pushes the boundaries of what should be our professional 
ethics.
