Sadly, "news" often means merely "new to this journalist".

The article includes this manifest inaccuracy:

"Other experts, such as Deborah Tannen, a linguistics professor at
Georgetown University in Washington, have popularised the idea that men and
women have different communications styles. But Argamon's work is the first
to show such distinctions in writing."

It's quite true that Tannen has popularised the idea; but she has also
substantiated it with sound research. Similar research has been carried out
elsewhere. Argamon's work is certainly _not_ the first. It's not even the
first in the US, where the focus on formal rather than functional models of
language might be expected to steer research away from such issues.
