Do many contractors out there manage 52 weeks a year? Also, it's more like 52 - 4 (annual leave) - 2 (sick leave) - (possible maternity/paternity leave) - (unquantifiable amount for peace of mind due to job security which may well be tiny these days) which results in $55,200 - $73,600pa range assuming contractors work between 0.75 - 1 year each year. Once you drop down to $25 / hour you get $34,500 - $46,000. For what it's worth, average full-time adult ordinary time earnings from the ABS is around : $46,789.60 (from http://www.abs.gov.au/Ausstats) Is that range still reasonable? I guess the answer these days is that it is up to the market. > I think that $40 x 40hrs x 52weeks = $83200pa or we could unionize. ;) tien ************************************************** To post a message to austechwriter, send the message to austechwriter@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe to austechwriter, send a message to austechwriter-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "subscribe" in the Subject field.
