Invasive species have infested more than 100 million acres of the American landscape, cause more than $130 billion of damage to the American economy each year, and constitute a primary threat to America's declining birds and other wildlife. The report, Cooling the Hot Spots, demonstrates that invasive species are rapidly destroying valuable habitat needed by some of America's fastest-declining birds, and identifies ten invasive species Hot Spots in need of protection, to give a science-based road map toward meaningful conservation progress.
