New York, NY, Tuesday, October 21, 2003 - Robert Perciasepe, Audubon's Senior

Audubon President John Flicker. Perciasepe, former Assistant Administrator for

headquarters in New York.

"I have the greatest confidence in Bob's judgment and abilities as he assumes
increasing responsibilities for managing and leading Audubon's operations,"
said Flicker. "Because he is so uniquely qualified - with experience in local,
state, and federal government - and because he led our Washington office so

and wildlife and their habitats. The focus of his new duties is the planning
and oversight of the conservation group's operations. He has served as acting
COO since early 2003.

Perciasepe brings 25 years of experience in environmental and natural resources
management to Audubon. He was confirmed twice by the U.S. Senate to serve in
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, first as the Assistant Administrator
for Water in 1993 and then as the Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation
in 1998. He also served as Maryland's Secretary of the Environment, directing
the state's environmental protection programs 1990 to 1993. Previously, he was
Baltimore's Assistant Director of Planning, where he oversaw environmental and
infrastructure planning for the city.

Perciasepe sits on the Water Science and Technology Board of the National
Academy of Sciences. He also has served on the Board of the Chesapeake Bay
Trust, and as First Chairman of the Northeast Ozone Transport Commission. He
holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources from Cornell University
and a master's degree in planning from the Maxwell School of Syracuse
University.

Audubon is dedicated to protecting birds and other wildlife and the habitat
that supports them. Our national network of community-based nature centers and
chapters, scientific and educational programs, and advocacy on behalf of areas
sustaining important bird populations, engage millions of people of all ages
and backgrounds in positive conservation experiences.
