Hi Zdenek,

You first need to hook up the line out of your cassette deck to the line in of your computer sound card. Next make sure the recording line in is checked in the Windows volume control.

Push the 'r' key to start recording in Audacity and start your cassette playing. As for setting the markers you requested, these are called 'labels', which I have never used. Sarah knows, Sarah could you please outline the specific steps on how to set a label at a particular place in Audacity 1.2.4. And steps on how to skip to a particular label at a future time for listening.

Thanks

David

Hello:
I have a french textbook on the casette tapes and I would like to digitalize
it. I was wondering whether I could use audacity and whether I would bwe able
to record the intire book from the tape recorder there and then palce some type
of marks at the beginning of the important sections, I am using the stable
version of audacity I believe it is version 2.4. If this is not possible Iwas
wondering what other program you'd recommend to finish this task. If it is
possible to do this in audacity I would apprciate suggestions on how to do so.
Many thanks.
