Thanks guys, I coated the case with multiple layers of lacquer per the
instruction here: https://atreus.technomancy.us/assembly.pdf ;
Essentially, I started with sanding, then multiple lacquer coating, then light
sanding and final layer of lacquer. It was done yesterday and it is now
completely dry.
I will coat the top and bottom and side of the case with the oil provided, the
finishing might become smoother with it.

I'd recommend going very light on the sanding step, too (assuming you locate
those instructions). I remember the wood being softer than I expected and the
paper was biting it pretty deeply.

Yep - it's used to seal the wood. I suggest applying it before you assemble
anything. It'll need some time to set, and you'll want to wipe off extra.
I remember there being instructions for this part - they should be online.

I'm in the process of building my first Atreus. I noticed a small amount of
oil/wax was included in the kit (see the attached pic), however it is not
listed in the assembly manual/website, just wanted to make sure, is that
meant to be used as the finishing layer for the case? Thanks.
Regards,
Michael
