"I have had to become a digest lurker due to inbox congestion...."
I've been tempted myself! Lots of traffic lately...

Apparently so does everyone else. It's starting to become a "Rush fans
in Atlanta" list. I like them well enough, but they aren't my favorite.
Of the big-name prog acts, I prefer Yes, old Genesis, ELP, Tull, old
Floyd,etc. to Rush.
But thats OK! Everyone has their faves.
Maybe a favorites thread would be cool... mine change every day. Lately
I've been into old Italian prog - PFM, Banco, Le Orme. I've also been
checking out some of the newer generation of proggy artists.... I dig
Anglagaard, Anekdoten, Djam Karet, Ozric Tentacles. I'm mixed on Flower
Kings, Spock's Beard, Marillion, Echolyn... I really like a lot of
their stuff... but some of just sort of goes in one ear and out the
other.
My biggest influences would be Crimson (even though I mixed on some of
their output), Gabriel, and several
not-exactly-prog-but-still-progressive artists like Laurie Anderson,
David Byrne, Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Wendy Carlos.
I could go on and on, but I'd rather hear what some of you have to say.
