[atlantaprog] Re: making it happen: talk or action?

Hi all,
I'M BACK!!!!

I will book the room at Manuel's later this week, and then announce
the date of the August meeting... meanwhile - lot's of good talk and
good ideas floating around!

Collecting press kits from all interested bands - a VERY good idea.
Bring them in August (or if you can't come, get them to another ARIA
member). We should definitely maintain a library of band resources.
Finishing the website - also a good thing to do. Let's talk it out in
August (I've pasted in Bill's outline below as a start)

A cover letter/bio page - could be tricky to coordinate so many
disparate interests - but worth pursuing..... most important is a
PERSONAL VENUE CONTACT. Let's all share names and experiences....
venues to look at include Jakes, 9 Lives, Echo Lounge, the Earl, etc.
Let's presnt them with a win-win package - they work with us to
establish a home for Atlanta (and visiting) prog acts, and we work
with them to bring in the crowds...

So.. who knows whom? Who is willing to be part of a delegation to pay
a personal visit to some of these places (probably better than just
one of us making the contact)?

Onward...
