I think that I have heard this description a thousand times for a
thousand bands. Very generic.

Ahh, but you can't judge based on that snippet, or can you? :-) (being
facetious)
Anyone ever played "Corporate Bingo"? It's a bingo card with a bunch of
corporate and marketing BS terms like "Leverage" "synergistic" etc.
Someone at a meeting says these things and you mark your card. Get 5 in
a row and BINGO! The above kinda looks like Music Industry bingo. I
swear someone should create a press-kit bingo card and have those terms
"dynamic" "fresh" "guitar driven" etc. I'm sure that there are a few of
these types of terms that I have used, but damn!...
3 lines and I still have no clue as to what they are about. :-)
No offense to the band Candy From Strangers or anything. They are doing
the same things that millions of bands do, and that the music industry
marketers do as well. I would like to see something more descriptive
and original from a band.
I liked Kurt Cobain's description of Nirvana: "it's the Knack and the
Bay City Rollers being molested by Black Flag and Black Sabbath." Not a
pretty picture, but a memorable one!
Anyway, I seem to have to comment on EVERYTHING lately, so there you go!
