Tuesday, Aug 21, 9:00PM, $TBA
Mike Tamburo / Tusk Lord
Mike's solo work usually begins with the acoustic guitar; inspired by
American folk traditions, he expands outward to include influences
from avant-garde to noise to modern compositional music. Tusk Lord
combines distortion and drone with rustling acoustic ragas evoking
the current (free) folk renaissance and the new noise scene at the
same time.
Thursday, Aug 23, 8:00PM, $5
Film Love: How to Cope: Performance, Possession, Politics
In which we explore the links between spirit possession and
performance, and three examples of how both have been used to cope
with colonization, oppression, and political despair.
Friday, Aug 24, 9:00PM, $7
Jaggery, Envie, The Ghosts Project
Jaggery works the dark edge of a genre-defying musical style. They
bring to mind a more classical, organic, avant-jazz oriented Cocteau
Twins, or a "white witch" counter to the haunting Diamanda Galas.
Envie supplies intricate and pretty art-rock with a punchy pop
undercurrent. The Ghosts Project is an effort to evoke emotional
atmospheres through free improvisation on violin, percussion, and a
wide variety of instruments.
Saturday, Aug 25, 9:00PM, $5
Cerberus Trio
A exciting new professional chamber ensemble based out of Atlanta
performing percussion music of all types from the earliest avant-
garde to the cutting-edge of contemporary music

audience's experience through the exploration of the world of avant-
garde adult-oriented puppetry. The Ninja Puppet Experience will be
the launching pad for several new emerging artists, as well as a
spectacular venue for several ventures of the craft. Submissions for
new artists will be accepted August 24th. Submissions for performance

August’s Eyedrum Podcast This month we played a whole lot of
Mothguts' set from July, some things by Erik "Killick" Hinds and
LaDonna Smith (who will be playing as a duo on August 9th), and a
long song by Philly psych band Radio Eris. Then we had Gavin
Frederick of Stickfigure Records visit us in studio and tell us about
some bands that are playing two showcases that he's doing at Eyedrum
on August 10th and 24th. We played selections by Sorry No Ferrari,
Big Penguin, 13 Day Mission, Jaggery and Envie. hosted by Chris
Campbell.
