Hello all,
The city of Atlanta is having a set of weekend activities for the 140th
anniversary of the Battle of Atlanta the weekend of July 23-24, and of
them is an outdoor concert at Brownwood Park in East Atlanta, Saturday
the 24th from 11-6. Lord Only will be playing and I've asked to find
some other bands to play, so here's the invite. There's no payment
unfortunately, but there should be a lot of people there and bands call
sell merchandise. We're working on either a covered stage or a rain
backup location at Echo or the Earl. Email me if you're interested or
want more info, the sooner the better. If anyone knows any other bands,
whether rock, blues, jazz, pop, whatever, send me their info as well.
There's also going to be events at the Cyclorama, Oakland Cemetery, a 5k
run, shops/bar discounts, guided Civil War site tours, some kind of
banquet at a local antebellum house, re-enactors, etc.
Also, I just found out GA PBS tv is going to be taping the concert so it
should be good publicity.
Brian
Lord Only
PS: i sent in a press release about the rogue fest to the local EA
paper, the porch press. Hopefully they'll run it in the next issue.
