True, so do I, but those are also MODERN electronic
drums...Roland V-Drums, to be precise.  These drums
are actually triggers for acoustic samples, that can
then be electronically treated. VERY cool and also
VERY expensive...I think that the kit Pat M. plays is
the top-end Concert series, and Musician's Friend
sells just the basic Concert kit for $5K!!! 

If these kinds of drums existed in 1983-84 or so, then
we wouldn't be complaining about cheesy 80's
electronic drums!  ;-)

FYI, for those who didn't happen to know, but is
definately relevant to this thread, Pat M. played
drums for the 80's era band Mr. Mister (you know
"Broken Wings", "Kyrie", etc.)...a decent 80s band,
IMHO.
