I was luke-warm about Pat's drum sound on the ConstruKction of Light CD.  It
was interesting, but also sometimes intrusive.  Every once in a while, it
seems like a sound gets away from him and looms too large in the texture.  I
think he's really settling into the role, though, and found The Power to
Believe and the recent tour to be really impressive (he and Trey have really
gelled as a rhythm section).

Pat's also had a big influence on the recorded sound of Crim (to tie this in
to the recording engineer thread).  The ProjeKct X CD was a great example,
but also he and Trey were the ones who convinced the band (mostly convinced
Robert) to get Machine on board to produce TPTB.  Robert has to have been
reasonably happy with the results, as Machine is currently working with the
audio for the upcoming DVD's.
