I typically try to stay out of the political discussions because I can see
advantages and disadvantages with most political parties and most political
systems. However, since anarchy has been brought up, I just wanted add my
thoughts on the topic.

My problem with anarchy is that for it to work, people have to do not what
is best for themselves, but what is best for everyone (and that will NEVER
happen). Otherwise, you would have a complete breakdown in civilization. I
suspect that in a state of anarchy, we would go straight to a nationwide
riot / looting situation. There are a lot of people who don't commit crimes
because of the consequences, not because it's wrong to commit a crime.
Plus, with no government, you'd instantly have regional gangs taking over
cities; a bunch of civilian bullies with guns basically setting up regional
governments that ran even more viscously than our current government. I
have too little faith in people to be an anarchist.

Our government is far from perfect, but there aren't many out there that are
better.
