[atlantaprog] Re: Z-Axis last Saturday (10/23)

We were oversold on the size of the fest! The woman organizing it painted a picture of a huge event comparable to the Inman Park fest (which is a gig I hope we land some day!) I would have been happy if it had at least been as big as the Candler Park fest. When I pulled up and saw only about a dozen artist and/or vendor booths, I thought seriously about canceling - but that would have been highly unprofessional and would probably have come back to haunt us... so we looked at it as a rehearsal for next weekend!

As it was, we got a lot of good response - mostly from sound techs, other band members and some of the vendors. A lot of people heard us besides that handful in the audience area.

Did you catch the second act, Divinity? From their name and their "rock/rap" description, I wouldn't have expected much - but they kicked ass! Real psychedlic and funky. And Divinity herself was a heck of a bass player - knocking out some great fusion-y slap stuff from time to time.

Yep.  That's me.

What an odd time.

The people wandering through the park all seemed to be puzzled.  This wasn't Rap.  This wasn't R & B.  This wasn't syrupy crooning.  This was weird stuff.  Whitefolks are so STRANGE.
